Lions donate £10,000 to good causes

Lions Club updates UckfieldNews.com readers on a successful year.

More than £10,000 has been distributed to good causes this year by Uckfield and District Lions Club.

Among the 20+ organisations helped are Alsar Search Dog Rescue, Sussex Ups and Downs, and Headway Hurstwood Park

Heart defibrillators are still being installed in the Uckfield area.

The Lions Minibus is available for hire and continues to be a great asset for many local organisations.

Fashion show at the end of the month

Diabetes testing in Uckfield and Heathfield was a success and special events contributions included Macmillan Cancer and the Alzheimers Society.

Funds continued to be raised via various events including the summer fete and a fashion show on November 30 (£6) at the Luxford Centre, 7.30pm.

The Uckfield Lions’ second-hand bookshop in Olives Yard, off Uckfield High Street, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm.
