Rocks Park School pavilion has got a new look thanks to staff from Josefina the lifestyle shop in Uckfield High Street.
Owner Louise Beard and Joanne Bullimore joined a task force of parents and friends of the school who volunteered their time over a weekend to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks ready for the summer.
Louise was delighted when Autentico who supply chalk paints for her shop donated 20 litres of paint to transform the pavilion.
She said: “We chose Winter Sky which is my favourite – and the same colour as Josefina is painted – and it has made a huge difference. This paint is fully weather proof, has a built-in UV filter and advanced moisture control so it was ideal for the job.”
Rocks Park headteacher Chris Davey thanked the Josefina team, which also included Joanne’s daughter Francesca Tilley, for all their hard work. They gave the pavilion and benches outside two coats of paint and he was very pleased with the end result.
He said he was grateful to all volunteers who gave up their time. They painted and treated fences and picnic benches and jet washed around the pool and playground.
They also helped put up six magnetic board games on the outside of school walls for children to use at break time. “We had a really good general clear out of the grounds and filled a skip in the process,” said Mr Davey.
“The whole school site is now ready for summer,” he added.
