Jim the Fish warns of looming water crisis

One of the most recognised faces along the banks of the River Uck and Ouse, Jim Smith – known to most as Jim the Fish – is warning of a water supply crisis.

Jim, from Isfield, featured in a Guardian “long-form” article by renowned journalist Nick Davies.

Read why he fears for the future of the river and the pressures causing the problems here.

Jim Smith, who is often seen in Uckfield, was a founder member of the Sussex Ouse Conservation Society.

He spent his whole life working on the Ouse and his knowledge of the river is unparalled.
