Maximum high intensity interval training classes will be starting at Uckfield Civic Centre from Wednesday, February 22.
The Insanity sessions are being run by Emma Naylor, who runs a similar class, but outdoors, on a Saturday, whatever the weather, at Uckfield Rugby Club at 8.45am.
Emma says Insanity uses body weight as a tool and is an all over body work-out.
It is broken into blocks of Plyometrics (jumping) and Speed, Strength and Stability, Agility and Co-ordination, Abs and Core and Dig Deeper.
Each block is further broken down into three sets of exercise.
Number one is where the exercise is demonstrated. Number two is where you push yourself a little bit harder and number three is where you really go for it.
The session ends with a one-minute ‘power move’.
Emma says the classes are suitable for people of all levels of fitness. She shows modifications which make the range of movement smaller to take account of injuries and different levels of fitness.
She added: “I show the minimum that can be done, and the maximum. It is a hard workout and one where you can change your shape and improve fitness by attending once or twice a week.”
Insanity music helps keep participants motivated, and somehow, just as you feel you can go no further it builds to help you press on, she says.
The sessions at Uckfield Civic Centre will be held in the Ashdown Room each Wednesday, starting on February 22, at 7.30pm.
Emma’s own fitness journey started five years ago as a Zumba teacher. She then went on to qualify as a personal trainer.
She still loves Zumba and runs classes on Tuesdays at Maresfield Village Hall, at 9.30am, and at Fun Abounds Trampoline Centre, on the Bellbrook Estate, at 8pm.
She also teaches Zumba at Five Ash Down Village Hall on Fridays at 10.30am.
Other classes run by Emma include bootcamps on Mondays evenings (7.30pm) and Wednesday mornings (9.30am) at Uckfield Rugby Club ,and on Fridays, at Five Ash Down Village Hall at 10.30am.
Personal training sessions are available with Emma on a one-to-one basis, or in groups, designed to suit your own short term or long term goals.
