Hurstwood View is name of new care home at Five Ash Down

Hurstwood View is the name of a new 55-bed care home which is due to open at Five Ash Down in September.

The name was chosen following a competition at Buxted Primary School. It reflects the fact that High Hurstwood is visible from the new home and people will enjoy the view.

Prizes included family cinema vouchers and £100 of book vouchers for the school. All children that proposed a name were rewarded with a £5 book voucher.

Denise Craig, home services advisor for the home which will be run by national care provider Barchester Healthcare said: “Well done to all those who put lots of thought into their entries and congratulations to the winner. The name is well chosen as Hurstwood View has some truly beautiful views of High Hurstwood and the surrounding countryside.

Denise added: “At Barchester we pride ourselves on building excellent relationships with our local community and our new home is no different. We hope to continue this happy association with the school who have done a fabulous job in helping us choose a name.”
