Home Instead hopes to fill 25 new jobs in Uckfield and Lewes area

Home Instead, an organisation providing non-medical care and companionship for older people in their own homes is hoping to fill 25 new jobs in the Uckfield and Lewes areas this year.

Business owner Alison Scutt says there is a huge requirement for care services and she has launched a campaign ‘You Can Care’ to address a shortage of care workers.

She said the aim was to inform people how rewarding working in care could be and banish preconceived ideas about what caring is all about.

Fantastic relationships

She added: “We want to show people the human stories, the fantastic relationships and the real side of caring, as it should be.

“Being a care giver can be a wonderfully rewarding career for compassionate people.

“The new You Can Care campaign will champion all the positive aspects of care.”

A social media hashtag #youcancare has been created to support the campaign and Home Instead will be offering tips, advice and support for people caring for family members in the area.
