German company buys two sites on Ashdown Business Park

German company Vega Controls has bought two sites on the Ashdown Business Park, Maresfield, and is to build a new headquarters there.

The company will relocate from Burgess Hill once work is complete, according to Lawson Commercial partner Chris Lawson who handled the sale.

He said the new headquarters, near Uckfield, would have about 50,000 sq ft of space. The first phase is some 33,000 sq ft of which 26,000 sq ft will be offices and the remainder production and warehouse space.

With the first phase there will be 81 car spaces. There is room on the site for another 10,000 st ft and up to 100 car spaces in total.

Vega Controls is a global manufacturer of process instrumentation which is used in a wide variety of processes including the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, the food industry, power generation and water supply systems.

The operate in 80 countries around the works.

Mr Lawson said: “We are abslutely delighted to have attracted such a quality company to the Ashdown Business Park, and the design of their new building, which has received planning consent, is impressive and complements the new headquarters for Gunnebo Entrance Controls on the site next door.

“It is expected that construction work will commence early in the New Year.”
