The trial gives you the chance to sample different types of reusable nappies in your own home before you buy a bulk pack.
While the scheme is free a deposit of £25 is required. This will be refunded when the nappies are returned after the trial.
Cllr Roy Galley, cabinet member for waste and recycling says the trial pack has been improved from previous years and now ha e ven more varieties of reusable nappies to ‘try before you buy’.
He said the council would be providing free advice throughout the trial if needed.
Cllr Gally added: “ “Using reusable nappies can save your family money and is also good for the environment. Research shows families can save anywhere from £100 to £1000 per child by choosing reusable nappies over disposables.
“By choosing reusable over single use nappies, families could also make up to a 40% carbon saving which is great for the environment.”
The council says modern, reusable, nappies are stylish, fashionable and come in a range of designs, materials, sizes and colours designed to suit your baby and your pocket. They fasten easily with poppers or Velcro and can help with early potty training.
The nappies are being offered as the council supports Real Nappy Week which runs from April 23 to 29.
The national campaign aims to raise awareness of the benefits of reusable nappies. Currently UK families send 355,000 tons of single-use nappies to waste each year, which costs local authorities £32 million a year.
