If you would like to introduce your children to ballet, classes at Framfield can help you do just that.
So far there are sessions for children aged from two to 12 but more can be introduced as time goes on, according to the owner of Little Foxes Dance Company, Frances Pringle.
Classes are taken by two Royal Ballet-trained and experienced dancers Kellie McDowell and Carla Fisk and held on Tuesdays and Fridays at St Thomas a Becket Church Hall
Frances, who lives in Framfield, said that when she launched the school parents requested weekday classes that didn’t eat into family-time at weekends and wanted to keep down the costs of uniform and costumes so that is the format she follows.
The aim of Little Foxes is to introduce children – boys and girls – to dance, enabling them to enjoy it and take it further if they wish.
Frances isn’t a dancer herself – she is a consultant with Marks and Spencer in London – but her mother was a teacher at the Central School of Ballet, and her two daughter Millie, ten, and Hannah, nine, both dance with Little Foxes.
Teachers Kellie and Carla met aged 11 at the Royal Ballet School and only got back in touch recently, realised they lived close to each other, and decided to set up their own ballet school, Strictly Ballet, in Crowborough.
Their Friday classes at Framfield are for babies, two to four-year-olds, and pre-primary, four to six-year-olds.
Tuesday classes include primary, for seven to nine-year-olds, and Grade 2, for ten to 12-year-olds.
