First Ridgewood homes expected by Wealden District Council in 2018/19

First new houses at Ridgewood Farm, Uckfield, are expected to be ready in the year 2018/19, according to Wealden District Council figures.

A document setting how the council projects housing supply in the next five years indicates the following number of homes being built each year on the farmland to the west and south of Uckfield:

  • 2016/17: 0
  • 2017/18: 0
  • 2018/19: 50
  • 2019/20: 50
  • 2020/21: 100

Total deliverable in the five-year period 250.

Outline planning permission given for the site

The site has outline planning permission for 1,000 homes but as yet there has been no detailed planning application.

Development of Ridgewood Farm was always seen as a long-term project with the houses being built over a considerable period of time.

Wealden has projected figures for other major development sites in the district.

It has used data based on the past experience of site development.

Housing sites with permission in Uckfield, Blackboys, Buxted, East Hoathly, Framfield, Hadlow Down, Halland, Isfield and Maresfield
