Classic cars and cream teas will feature in a fund-raising event at Maresfield on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.
Last year’s Maresfield Classics included a pre-World War 1 Buick, a 1930w Alvis, a red E-Type Jaguar, a vintage tractor, Hillman Imps, and Avengers, Morris Minors, a British Racing Green Triumph Stag and an Austin Healey.
Organisers say there have been interesting sign-ups for the 2018 Classics too and invite you to go along and see who will be there.
The event takes place at East Holme Farm, Maresfield, TN22 3AY. There’s a barn in case of damp Bank Holiday weather and a grassy area if it’s fine.
Admission is £6 each, including the cream tea, and free for under 14s.
There will be free car parking and the event will be well signposted.
All proceeds will go to two local charities, The Friends of Maresfield Church, who raise funds for the preservation of the fabric of St Bartholomew’s Church, and CHADIK, which funds Outreach Clinics in desperately poor rural communities in Kenya.
St Bartholomew’s Church dates from 1080 and has a 15th century tower. The friends enabled a new floor to be laid in the church to enable easy access for wheelchair users, and are now raising funds for bathroom and new kitchen kitchen facilities in the building.
