Enjoy classic cars and cream teas at Maresfield event

There will be chance to look at classic cars and chat to their owners while also enjoying a cream tea at Maresfield on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29).maresfield-classics-logo

The Classics and Cream Teas event is being held at East Holme Farm, Underhill, TN22 3AY, from 2-5pm and if you have a classic car you are welcome to take it along.

Those already expected include a 1928 Model A Ford, a vintage Humber, Lotus Elan, Caterham Road Sport, and, breaking the mould, a modified Smart car capable of doing 140mph.

The admission fee is £6, which includes cream tea, but free for under 14s.

All proceeds will be shared between two charities, The Friends of Maresfield Church, which raises funds for the preservation of the fabric of St Bartholomew’s Church, and CHADIK, which funds Outready Clinics in desperately poor rural communities in Kenya.

The event is being held at the home of Dr Gillian Bullock who set up CHADIK, a charity run by volunteers enabling all money raised to fund clinics which provide medical care for mothers and children who would otherwise go unseen and untreated.
