Early warning of Uckfield roadworks

A major road into and out of Uckfield is to be resurfaced with work due to start next week.

Lewes Road will close on Wednesday, June 26, for three days for resurfacing to improve the condition and safety of the road.

The road will be closed to through traffic from its junction with the A22 Little Horsted roundabout to its junction with Eastbourne Road/New Barn Lane at Ridgewood roundabout.

A diversion will be signed via Eastbourne Road and the A22 Uckfield bypass in both directions.

Work on the installation of traffic calming measures in New Road will be finished by Monday, June 24, so the two schemes will not be operating at the same time.

East Sussex Highways is also doing planned work this month in Downsview Crescent on the Manor Park Estate, Uckfield.

Surface treatment on the full length of the road will be carried out Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.

The road will be closed to through traffic while this work takes place.
