Day of Action planned in Downsview Crescent, Uckfield

Parking, speeding and litter are some of the issues to be considered during a Day of Action in Downsview Crescent, Uckfield, tomorrow.

The area has been chosen because of ongoing complaints about those issues along with concern about overhanging bushes in alley ways and graffiti in the Manor Park tunnel under Browns Lane.

Organisations to be represented will include the Police, East Sussex Fire and Rescue, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, VOSA which oversees MOT testing and Wealden District Council.

Community Payback under the supervision of Probation will be helping clear up alley ways on the estate.

A gazebo is to be set up in the area of Pine Walk as a focal point and members of the public are invited to call in between noon and 4pm.

A poster competition is to be held within local schools with prizes offered for the designer of the winning poster and for the school they come from.
