D-day for tenders on running Uckfield Civic Centre

September 2015 Business Scene

A resolution to the long-running story of who should run Uckfield Civic Centre should be one step nearer a conclusion at noon today (September 1).

That’s the deadline for the return of tenders to the town council to run the catering, hospitality, event management at the centre.

Services are provided in-house at present but the council has on many occasions sought to review the management and improve revenues.

A consultant was employed to help the council improve what was offered to customers in the restaurant and those hiring rooms for meetings, seminars and events.

The town council already “contracts out” a number of services.

The running of the town council itself is unaffected.
