Cricket: Uckfield Anderida draw with Gildredge

Uckfield were put in on a really good track and quick outfield. They made a good start, the runs coming regularly and without losing a wicket, writes David Tungate. cricket-ball

After 25 overs, Uckfield were 101-0. After that they kicked on, Matt Reed passing his 50 before he departed after a good stumping, for 67.

Uckfield pushed the run rate up and, wickets in hand it enabled them to play their shots and take a few risks. With good support from Pete Holman and Matt McCallum, David Tungate finished the innings on 153 not out. And Uckfield finished on 265-3 off 50 overs.

Uckfield made a good start, Dan Phillips getting an early breakthrough. But on a good pitch, it was always going to be difficult to bowl Gildredge out. One wicket a piece for Burns and Brady, an another for Phillips gave Uckfield hope, before a stunning run out for Matt McCallum. But in the end it was a draw, with Gildredge finishing 211-5 off their 43 overs.
