But, after good bowling from Joe Burns, who took two wickets with the new ball, and then a superb catch from Allen Cutinha off Neal Boniface’s bowling, Uckfield reduced the run rate and got themselves back into the game.
Andy Turner (3-58) and Neal Boniface (1-22) helped slow the run rate down, and build pressure on the Isfield middle order. Two late wickets from Chris Brady helped restrict Isfield to 225-9.
Uckfield started off well, with Kev Morton and Matt McCallum batting well. But after both fell within two overs, the pressure was right back on Uckfield. Some big hitting by Allen Cutinha gave Uckfield some hope, but with some good, tight bowling from the Isfield bowlers, 225 was always just too many. And Uckfield’s last wicket fell in the final over, being bowled out for 175.
Uckfield gained 15 points, putting them five points off safety with two games left of the league season.
