Volunteers are needed to run a parent and toddler group at Ridgewood Village Hall.
A group has met at the hall consistently for the past 30 years and is normally organised by parents themselves, usually with a change in leadership as children move on to pre-school.
Toys are already available at the hall and while the group operates autonomously the village hall committee can help with advice on paperwork, such as insurance, and risk assessment needs.
Village hall committee chairman Karen Bedwell said she would be pleased to hear from anybody interested in getting involved. She can be contacted by phone on 07951 316484, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
She said the group had previously met for an hour on a Monday morning but there is flexibility in the hall timetable with other slots available on a Monday afternoon, or from 12-3pm on a Tuesday or Thursday.
The organisers would need to open the hall in advance of the meeting, get out the toys, put the kettle on to make a cuppa, offer biscuits and drinks for the children, and clear up afterwards.
Previously there has been a small charge to cover rent and refreshments.
Karen said: “This is an important community group giving support to new mums with babies and toddlers and giving them chance to get to know other mums in the area while enabling their pre-nursery children a chance to play and make friends.”
