A revamped bar area and new air-conditioning are some of the changes you will spot at Amira’s Kitchen, the Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant in Uckfield.
The restaurant, in Grange Road, been evolving ever since owners Lauren and Towfique Ahmed opened its doors at the end of last year.
First came the evening menu, then High Chai – the couple’s own take on afternoon tea – and street food, small dishes that can be combined, when you fancy a snack.
The couple are very pleased to have new air conditioning to cool the restaurant inside.
And the downstairs area has been transformed into a bar with high top tables.
You can have a drink there while waiting for a takeaway, enjoy refreshments before sitting down at a table for dinner, and you are welcome to pop in for a drink and snacks, such as popadoms and chutneys, or dishes from the starter or street food menus.
There’s a cocktail menu now too with five cocktails to choose from.
When dining look out too for Amira’s Favourites – a small selection of ‘specials’. These are found on a board on the table and will be changed about once a month.
