Uckfield businesswoman Chrissy Noble is looking for more organisers to join her Usborne Books team.
Chrissy says she is coming up to the busiest time of year for book sales and needs more people who would like to get involved in manning stalls at fairs or hosting an Usborne Book party in their own home.
Chrissy, who has worked with Usborne Books for more than 25 years, said: “Usborne offers some great incentives to organisers, and, of course, the commission is brilliant.”
She added that autumn events were great because this was the time people started thinking about Christmas. Each organisation added their own individual touches to their own events.
Some she is looking forward to include selling books in the evening under twinkling fairy lights, meeting Father Christmas, spending a morning with ladies from all around the world who will be wearing national costumes, joining a Harvest Festival service at Ardingly showground, eating too much cake and mince pies and learning about the work of some amazing charities.
Chrissy said one of her team emailed her this week and saying: “The most memorable moments of my time as an Usborne organiser have been obviously the Gala Awards and the meetings in Oxford and London – really enjoyed those.
“And of course dinner at Le Manoir was pretty special, but ultimately that moment when a child’s face lights up when they have just bought a book is the most magical.”
If you have a passion for books and children’s literacy and have a few hours a week to spare then Chrissy would be pleased to hear from you.
