Brighter Uckfield volunteers make mark across town

Brighter Uckfield is continuing to make its mark across the town.

The organisation is now independent of the town council and now has its own steering group and regular volunteers.

Volunteers are out clearing litter from the town centre on virtually every Sunday morning.

Some are taking on additional ‘project’ work – such as clearing the gutters in the Luxford Car Park.

Work is under way to clear undergrowth from land on the corner of Mallard Drive and New Town. Efforts are under way to install a planter at each road entrance into the town, starting with one close to Batchelor Way.

Improvements to the railway station forecourt have started (in conjunction with the Rotary Club) and members work with Southern Railway and Network Rail to improve the station platform and the area behind the platform.
