Historic Bridge Cottage which opened to the public following a major restoration programme completed last year is to host its first wedding in June.
Mention of the wedding is included in a blog on the Bridge Cottage website as it reviews 2016 and looks ahead to what is planned in 2017.
Continuing the wedding theme there are plans for a wedding exhibition in April which will showcase different designs of dresses worn over the years.
Many of those to be exhibited are being loaned by people from in and around Uckfield.
The centre’s first exhibition is under way at the moment. It is about World Wars 1 and 2 and explores life for Uckfield people during those times.
Bridge Cottage will be opened to the public every Friday from April onwards and a newly refurbished shop will be accessible then too. It will stock a range of new items, including potential gifts on sale from local artists.
Monthly evening talks are established, a thriving education programme is under way, and a series of music concerts is being held too.
