Branching Out Adventures, a tree-top park in Halland, is running a weekday activity club for children during the Easter holidays.
It will take place from Monday, April 2, to Friday, April 13, and will include activities such as Bushcraft Fire, High Ropes, Low Ropes, Giant Swing, Bushcraft Shelters, Bounce A bout, Crate Challenge, Climbing Wall, Monkey Climb, Leap of Faith, Speed Zipwire, plus games and other fun.
Chris Smith of Branching Out Adventure says the club was developed in response to a survey of 2,000 parents that showed children’s outdoor time is shrinking dramatically and three-quarters of Sussex children spend less time outside than prison inmates.
Chris said: “UN guidelines for prisoners require ‘at least one hour of suitable exercise in the open air daily’ however it appears that the majority of UK children spend less than 60 minutes playing outside each day.
“From the research, this appears to be partially due to the draw of digital technology.
“It’s a huge benefit for children to be outside, in the woods and away from devices - doing something active, exciting and interesting.”
