Colourful characters at today's bonfire societies' procession through Uckfield

Bonfire Boys and Girls end season with Uckfield procession

Uckfield again played host this afternoon to the annual Sussex Association of Bonfire and Carnival Societies’ carol service.

Bonfire boys and girls from across the county walked in procession from Harcourt Road, New Town, to Holy Cross Church for carols.

This afternoon’s event marks the formal end of the Sussex “season”.

The colourful procession was joined by Fr John Wall from Holy Cross Church.

Heathfield Silver Band and Uckfield Performance Ensemble provided music “on the move”.

Father Christmas was present too, thanks to Uckfield Lions Club.
