Bigger Ridgewood Village Hall on the cards

Ridgewood Village Hall may be extended.

Preliminary advice has been sought by the village hall management committee from Wealden District Council planning department.

As a result, a firm of local architects has been asked to draw up plans, a meeting of Uckfield Town Council’s general purposes committee was told.

The report from town councillor Keith Everett, Independent, Ridgewood, who is the council’s representative on the management committee added:

“In the expectation that plans would be approved, the committee (Ridgewood management) would need to turn attention to raising more funds to meet the level of costs expected.”

Cllr Everett also told his fellow councillors that concerned local residents had reported the village hall car had been used by drivers for what appeared to be “nefarious reasons”.

Residents were encouraged to contact the Police if incidents occurred.
