Seventeen-year-old Matt Jeffrey has joined the technician team at SLM Toyota in Uckfield as an apprentice.
The company says he is beginning a three-year apprenticeship that should end with him earning valuable qualifications and experience in the motor industry.
Working with Matt are master diagnosis technician Rob Fuller, and technicians Ross Stevens and Adam Carpenter.
Rob worked hard for his qualification which involved around 90 hours of e-learning, six exams taking 15 hours and four practical skills assessments. It covers a huge range of areas in detail and SLM says the qualification enables both Rob and the company to deliver the highest quality service possible to customers.
Ross has received his Team 21 V2 Pro Tec Technician certificate, and his course also required many hours of self-studying, an online exam and practical assessment which he passed with flying colours.
Adam is able to diagnose problems using Toyota diagnostic equipment and perform repairs and preventive maintenance on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes and tyres.
The company says he also provides good customer service and communication skills, along with computer proficiency.
