Callum Boyce signs the declaration of office watched by town clerk, Holly Goring, and Cllr Chris Macve

Another UCTC student co-opted by Uckfield Town Council

Uckfield Town Council now has a second youth member.

He is Uckfield Community Technology College student Callum Boyce.

Town clerk, Holly Goring, has been liaising with the college to see if any young people would be interested in taking part in the council’s decision making.

Councillors voted to co-opt Mr Boyce at last night’s meeting (April 3). He will be a non-voting member but can fully take part in discussions and debates, including confidential business.

His co-option follows a similar move in February when Owen Coleman joined the council.

Mr Boyce is an A-level students, whose studies include politics. He is the year below Mr Coleman at UCTC.
