The scene at Crowborough Railway Station last night when the Uckfield rail service terminated there unexpectedly.

Another nightmare journey for Uckfield rail commuters

There was another nightmare rail journey for Uckfield commuters last night when a journey home from London Bridge took two hours and twenty minutes and then terminated at Crowborough.

Passenger Jonathan Milner said the journey should have taken one hour and nine minutes. He posted updates about the delays on his Twitter account and took the picture, above, of passengers abandoned at Crowborough.

The first sign of trouble came when the 1808 from London Bridge spent ten minutes at Hever and then was held up again at Eridge before continuing its journey only to terminate at Crowborough.

SouthernRailUK  tweeted in response to Jonanthan: “I sincerely apologise, you can claim compensation.”
